Failure’s Plea

untitled (2)

Mirror, mirror, tell me true:
Tell me, tell me, who loves you?
Outside of your fairyland,
Who can you trust to hold your hand?

Mother, mother, tell me clear:
Am I not your favorite dear?
Am I not your baby child?
The youngest, oh so meek and mild?

Brother, brother, just a sec:
Won’t you tell me that I’m not a wreck?
Won’t you tell me what I mean to you
Even when you’re feeling blue?

Sister, sister, tell me true;
You always know just what to do.
So tell me: if you had the choice,
Would you rather never to have heard my voice?
